Twisting his throttle not his melon!

October 5th, 2020 by

CCM owner, star of Gogglebox and one of Madchester’s most loved characters, Happy Mondays’ Bez took one of our Foggy FT Stealth bikes on a very special mission.

The Target: Paul Redfern, founder of charity Blood Bikes Manchester

The consignment: The coveted Pride of Manchester award

Destination: Hyde, Greater Manchester

Paul Redfern was just 18 when he was involved in a serious motorbike accident losing his right leg, his life saved only by an emergency blood transfusion.

Based on his own life-saving experience, he decided to set up a dedicated charity to assist with getting essential blood supplies to wherever they are required in the most efficient way possible – by motorbike!

The charity is funded solely by donations and from fund-raising events set up by supporters with volunteers on-call riding the dedicated Blood Bikes.  “Since the start of lockdown, many of the normal streams of revenue have all but disappeared” Paul said. “The bikes are running every day supplying the North West Air Ambulance for example, with blood and plasma supplies which enables them to save more lives at the scene of a serious accident. Of course, the bikes need to be serviced, fuelled and insured, so any donations are always very welcome to keep this vital service going.”

I’m sure you will agree that Paul is a worthy winner of this special award and, if you would like to volunteer or donate to this valuable charity, contact [email protected]

Our Tribute to the late great Allan Scott DFM

September 10th, 2020 by

Yesterday we learned of the passing of our friend and supporter of the RAFBF100 project, Allan Scott.

We first met Allan when he offered his support in raising £100,000 for the RAF Benevolent Fund through the sales of the RAFBF100 Spitfire.

Allan, aged 99, was one of the last surviving Spitfire pilots from the Second World War, and the last surviving Spitfire Ace from the Siege of Malta. Remarkably, Allan survived without taking a single bullet in any plane he flew, yet ironically, he was seriously injured after performing an aerial display in a Tiger Moth biplane in Edinburgh in 1953. The stresses of the aerobatics snapped the tailfin and the plane went into a dive, crashing into the golf course close by the RAF base.

Flying Spitfires gave Allan a taste for speed and he could be seen flying up the country lanes of Shropshire on his motorbike back in the day. When he saw the CCM RAFBF Spitfire for the first time he said that he wished he was young again and had the chance to ride this beautiful machine. Allan remarked that it sounded like a merlin flying past!

Allan was a true gentleman and will be greatly missed by all who knew him and our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

August 28th, 2020 by

CCM have joined forces with JEM Speed Shop in Batley, West Yorkshire to create our very first pop-up showroom.

Why JEM? Well, we recognised that the guys here were doing something new and exciting with their distinctive version of a biking destination. With great facilities like “The Pit Stop” American-style diner; Micro-pub serving craft ales; clothing and accessories; plus a barbers shop and tattoo parlour it’s a great place to go for a ride out! Oh and they sell bikes too, and all of this under one roof in a hip, laid back setting.

The CCM pop-up shop officially launches this Saturday, 29 August with the following bikes on display;

  • The NEW Spitfire Blackout movie tribute bike
  • The stock Bobber and the moody Stealth version;
  • The Spitfire 6 resplendent in British Racing Green;
  • The stunning RAFBF100 commemorative model;
  • The unique Wolf 77 Custom Café Racer concept
  • Plus a rare and highly collectable original Spitfire!

The new Blackout model is based on the original Scrambler concept, and was created as a tribute to the machine ridden by Scarlett Johansson and Florence Pugh in the November release of Black Widow.

This gorgeous special edition can be yours for just £8995 and you can find out more about the new Spitfire Blackout by visiting www.ccm-motorcycles.com/blackout

Come and meet the team this weekend at JEM Speed Shop. You can find them at Unit 3, Brookroyd Mill, Bradford Road, Batley, West Yorkshire, WF17 8ND from 09:00 to 17:00 7 days a week.

Unlock Your Freedom

June 5th, 2020 by

“Consider all other forms of transport before using public transport.”, is the current government advice for those returning to work right now and as motorcyclists, we already know that the best choice has two wheels…..

Motorcycles and scooters are affordable, economical and fun and as more people abandon public transport, they can help ease congestion.

And now there’s another clear benefit – splendid isolation!

Help share the message and get more people on two wheels and #unlockyourfreedom

Seven-Time World Champion Carl Fogarty Joins CCM

November 7th, 2018 by

CCM Motorcycles today announced that seven-time world champion Carl Fogarty has joined the company as a brand ambassador and consultant.

To mark the collaboration CCM and Carl have developed a limited edition of just 300 Foggy Edition versions of their highly-acclaimed Spitfire series, plus one identical bike commissioned for Foggy.

The Foggy Edition Spitfire model will be first seen in the flesh on Saturday, November 17th on CCM’s stand at Motorcycle Live at the NEC, Birmingham.

“I have been a massive admirer of CCM’s progress over the last few years and love the retro-look bikes they have been producing,” said Carl, who has been appointed Director of Performance.

“I go way back with CCM and have always been close friends with the Clews family, who started the company. So when the chance came up to work with them again I saw a great opportunity to support a British manufacturer that is close to my heart.

“I’m really happy with the Foggy Edition Spitfire. The idea was to add a bit of my own personality and racing heritage to a cool range that has already proved such a big success with the public.

“It’s a bike that you can take to a track day with your mates and then ride straight to the café for a coffee!”

CCM managing director, Austin Clews, added:

“Carl has been a great personal close friend of mine for many years now and we both feel that now is the right time for Carl to get involved, at a time when CCM is venturing more and more into the road bike side of UK and international markets.

This offers the chance not only for Carl to introduce CCM to a wider worldwide audience but also for Carl to be directly involved and influence the way CCMs are designed in the future. This is a very exciting time for us both and we intend to maximise Carl’s impact to help the future growth of CCM.”

Carl will be appearing at the CCM stand at Motorcycle Live on November 17, 23 and 25.

Squadron Magazine Launches; Providing Greater Insight & Improving Customer Communication

October 29th, 2018 by

Exciting times this month ahead of the NEC Motorcycle Live Show, as CCM launch their new customer magazine appropriately named “Squadron”.

In the last 12 months CCM has grown at such a rapid rate, that simply responding to customer enquiries has started to become a daily challenge for the sales team and as a scaling business, It was down to the company to find a solution.

When they sales team dug into the data, they quickly found a pattern in the types of questions being asked and devised a plan on how best to answer the most commonly asked regularly and clearly.

After seeing other manufacturers dealing with similar issues through their monthly magazine, CCM decided to adopt the idea and the idea was born. The Squadron Magazine will be a monthly update that will go out to all customers and share knowledge and improve communication.

CCM have also added the magazine to their website in ‘Explore CCM’ to allow anyone who is interested in purchasing from CCM the opportunity to see what is happening inside CCM HQ prior to ordering a bike.

The business hopes this new tool will improve information sharing with a wider audience making communication more fluent and simpler, alongside providing greater value to customers and increasing the levels of service.
