Having been without a bike for close to 10 years and awaiting my Spitfire 6 build, I thought I would be proactive.
I need to get some tools for the basic maintenance etc, so what tools do you think I should invest in ?
I have metric spanners but need to invest in some better motorcycle specific ones. I also have a torque wrench and the usual diy tools.
I am guessing that I don’t need imperial tools and the nuts and bolts etc are metric ?

    Hi, Bob
    Welcome back to motorcling,
I prefer 6 sided sockets for a motorcycle kit, (rear axle nut favourite, Beta 6 sided socket and 1″ drive bar)
    These sizes may help,
Wheel axle nuts front and rear are 30mm, rear wheel adjusters need open ended spanners 10mm and I think the lock nut is 13mm, a set of Allen keys up to 6mm and spanners up to 17mm will cover most of the small jobs , bash plate rear mount bolt nuts are awkward (swan neck spanner !) If your swooping the rear shock you’ll be tackling a 24mm nut and need an 8mm Allen key for the top mount.
    regards Martin

Ps. don’t forget to read the CCM warranty terms !
