I did have my Spitfire delivered by CCM and that delivery was flawless, though as you say it’s not cheap. I wanted to ride mine back from Bolton to Swindon but by the time the bike was finally ready, too much risk of getting it dirty on first ride!! Have since ridden it up to the Peaks and back in a day and actually it wasn’t too uncomfortable!!

Hi Martin, thanks for the info and PDF for removing fuel tank. Got a flat battery on my Scrambler so need to get mine off and this is very usef. Got a bit stuck though, removed the overflow pipe and the fuel pump connector but having trouble getting the fuel pipe off. Is there any particular way you need to turn it? And I assume it is the tank end you need to remove? Just checking as there is a pic attached showing the fuel line still attached to the tank. I have actually managed to get the battery out with the tank lifted but it’ll be easier to reinstall with the tank off so I want to persist with it!!
Thanks, Sean
Thanks Scrambler126, That’s useful. I never adjust suspension aside from pressing button on the GS! I’m just over 12 stone so I’ll try maybe a little less than 2…not sure how much a turn equates to weight wise. Tyre pressures always checked so theybwould hopefully not cause a problem.
Thanks again
‘Scuse my ignorance here but is the hard suspension the reason the front end is quite flighty when hitting bumps at speed…quite disconcerting at times when it shakes it’s head over rough roads!
Hi Julian, I had the same issue while trying to see if I could strap a bag on, seemed like a real pain to line up and bolt was in danger of stripping threads, kept jamming. Not helped as the nut moves in its holder. I think the issue was that the threads were already a bit knackered before i involved it…anyway, after reporting tje problem to Steve Bridgeman just before the weekeend, i then stumbled across tap and die set in the toolbox and cleaned both threads out – went back really easily then. I was a bit dubious as wary of completely knackering the threads but tried it and it worked. Whether from warranty point of view I should have done it who knows but I told him I’d fixed it and he didn’t seem worried. Saved CCM having to send someone out to sort it anyway. If you’ve not sorted it yet and want to try that may be worth checking with them first…I’m sure John can advise.
Hi, Sean here in Wiltshire, Scrambler owner…great bike so far but a little concerned about reports of rusty frames that are being replaced…I need to have a good look over the frame for any signs of rust appearing but any pointers as to where it may start if there are common problems areas, greatly appreciated…thanks
