    Hi Jckman8, I’m very interested in your seat, I will measure the thickness of the standard seat at the front to see how much lower the standard seat is, where about do you live, I’m based near Driffield in East Yorkshire, cheers

    Hi Simon, great to hear you’ve chosen the Blackout, I have seen the bike and it’s look are fantastic in the flesh, the images online don’t show that too well.
    Like you I find the Spitfire range takes me back to the 80s where modest power and light simple motorcycles seemed perfect for fun with your mates, we do get trapped in wanting more, more power, more tech, but like good food, it’s usually the simple likes of fish and chips that satisfy the most, my Flat tracker gets more attention than 90% of the bikes at the motorcycle cafes, happy days ahead me thinks for you Simon, oh, the stage 1 is worth a punt, it’s worth getting during your first service, the bikes really start to perform with that and a few miles to loosen off.

    Hi sswinno, CCM are after slow to respond to emails, your better calling them and putting your order in, as for the gear change, it’s usually really good, finding neutral can be a faff when new, but gets better with miles, in fact the whole bike gets better with miles, so if your having issues with the gears, get that checked out under warranty, mine were silky from day one, FT6 model, oh, a stage 1 tune is highly recommended, really improves the available power, overtaking is much better, enjoy your Bobber, CCM servicing is fantastic, and they will take your bike away and return it should it need major works.

    I use the cold start/fast idle lever to start the bike every time, I wouldn’t call it a cold start, as it helps start the bike what ever the temperature, I just pull the lever and press the start button, no need for throttle as the lever increases the idle to a rev level where the engine is running at 2 to 3 thousand revs, it works perfect, and my Flat tracker starts perfect 100% of the time, first time, when the bike fires up, leave the lever pulled for a few seconds, then slowly release it, works every time.
    Just another tip, if you decelerate using the gears when riding, and you pull the little lever at the same time, you get amazing back pops on demand, childish, but it makes me laugh every time, try it, tell me another bike that has a back popping lever?

    So how did Rtb manage to remove the tubes, are they safe now? You want a fast deflation when riding, Rtb?

    How did you remove the tubes? The guys who fitted me a genuine replacement rear flat tracker tyre told me the tyre was designed to be used with tubes, so he kept the tube in, would have liked to have removed the tube to lighten the wheel and reduce some of the rotational mass that the 19” wheel creates, very gyroscopic at high speed, hence why Foggy fitted the 17” wheel to his model offering, interesting

    Not sure, but I’m about to replace my rear tyre on my FT6, which has the 19” billet wheels, I will let you know when I get it fitted.

    I saw the Blackout at Gem Speed today, along with a load of other CCM models, and was really surprised at how good the Blackout looked in the flesh, it was demonstrated with a few tasty extras, and was more like £10k but it was really really special, which just doesn’t come across in the images, to be honest, I didn’t like it from the images, but, it’s actually one of the nicest models, well done CCM.

    Had mine now for 9 months, 1400 dry miles later (bar one wet weekend) I’m still enjoying my flat tracker, mods over standard: 1. Removed the ugly rear number plate mount and relocated the plate to a side mount, fitted little led indicators onto the inside of the 71 numbered side panels, very neat and safe. 2. Carbon under-tray. 3. Stage 1 remap. 4. 40 tooth rear sprocket. 5. Fitted CCM small fly screen. 6. Changed the brown tape and grips for Renthal dual compound. 7. Modified the seat by inserting a dense 6nn foam sheet between the carbon base and seat base. 8. Made my own radiator guard from stainless steel mesh, rubber edging any black heat proof silicon adhesive
    The bike is now transformed, less vibration through the seat, more power, the longer gearing created by the 50 tooth rear sprocket makes 5th like the original 6th and the new 6th is like an overdrive, with the added power from the stage 1 tune the higher gearing is handled with ease and the bike loves cruising at 70 to 80 in 6th, a much more relaxed engine note, power seams to increase with miles, feels very quick up to 80mph, have had 105mph on a flat out test run (off road of course)
    The bike looks amazing, pulled off the blue and maroon stripes, they don’t look right, now have more carbon fibre to look at, the suspension is set to its softest settings, much improved, still firm, but ok, the rear spring cannot be any softer as the rear tyre hits the rear seat frame from time to time, how do I know? I find rubber on the frame, oh, the rear tyres, tooo soft, I’ve worn out the centre in 1400 miles, another 100 and I’m illegal, bought another at the cost of £142 delivered to my home, yet to have fitted.
    Still attracts more attention than 95% of bikes at my local bike cafe, and so it should, it looks the bollacks

    The Filters aren’t cleaned on the 1st Service, on my FT6 they changed the position of the little pop filter so as not to spew oil over the rear shocker, Ben the technician turned it upside down, I would expect the second service will clean them both.

    Had the tune done now, along with the rear sprocket reduced from 43 teeth to 40 teeth, and the results are fantastic, the extra power makes up for the longer gearing, result….the bike pulls better whilst not over revving, you can achieve 75mph in 3rd, 90mph in 4th and 100mph in 5th, 6th becomes an extra gear, that you can use to relax cruising, just makes the Spitfire a better distance bike, less fatigue, I highly recommend those 2 changes, really loving my FT6.

    Hi Ian, that’s a great selection of bikes, RD500 was a dream machine when I was a kid, I’m loving my FT6 and the build quality is fantastic, I get compliments where ever I park up, Seaways cafe in East Yorkshire is local to me, I will be attending on July the 1st when it opens again, not too far from you, there will be 100s of bikes there, all socially distancing in the car park, great place to chat about bikes, I saw another guy on a FT6 in March, so I’m not the only Yorkshire lad with one, hope you get your Spitfire this season, I recommend a gel seat, not got one, but the standard seat is bloody hard, and vibes like hell, I’ve self modded mine now and it’s vastly improved in the vibe department, but I can’t fault the rest of the motorcycle, smiles all round

    That would be great John, thanks again and well done in producing such great bikes, best of all, designed, made and ridden in the U.K, now where else can you say that?
