1971 – what a year that was….

In 1971, British Leyland launched the Morris Marina; Rolls Royce went bust and was nationalised; Jackie Stewart won the Monaco Grand Prix; The Who released the critically acclaimed “Who’s next?” album; Harvey Smith was stripped of his victory in the British Show Jumping Derby for giving the infamous V-Sign!

And a young man called Alan Clews from Bury in Lancashire, set about building competition bikes that would become known as “Clews Competition Machines” – CCM was born!

We will be sharing more about the history of this great British family marque on the build up to 2021 soon.
