Hi John,
Just received my Spitfire Six today. It’s been a long wait as I ordered it in November 2018. Not withstanding Covid etc and issues around frame corrosion before previous scheduled delivery I am delighted with the way it looks. I am sure Ben, Steve and Paul must have dreaded being told that I was on the phone again chasing my order but we got there in the end so many thanks to all of them. I haven’t ridden it yet and that is on my list for tomorrow but if it goes as well as it looks I shall be very happy. I’ve been riding for over 53 years so not exactly in the first flush of youth but really excited about the addition of the Six to my garage. We have some great roads around where I live so I’m hoping to get out as much as possible before the bad weather sets in, the other bikes might just have to take a back seat for the moment.
Hi David
I’m so pleased that you have your bike and are clearly very happy with it.
They really do shine on the roads that we bikers love without chasing those crazy top trump speeds.
John
Bonjour John,
Hi, I’m Max, I passed my test in ‘98 as I was determined to get my licence before my 30th birthday….. I started off on a Yamaha Thundercat 600 which I trashed soon after, a lesson learnt early!! I then went onto a couple of baby blades, a Ninja 600, then onto a couple of Triumph 1050 Sprint St’s… I have been lucky to have toured Europe on several occasions…. I still have the last 2014 Sprint, but wanted a different kind of bike for a different kind of biking, I looked for some time before seeing the MCN article on the new Spitfire 6 and as of September, I’m the proud owner of a Spitfire 6 Stealth…. I’m looking forward to some meets in post COVID 2021… I have a question for CCM, then I wash my bike, should I remove the lovely alcantara seat before, or is it designed to be washed with the bike?
Having a 6 too, it maybe a bit of overkill to go more than a bucket and sponge to clean a CCM, we don’t have much bodywork to worry about.
Welcome to the fold, you have a made a great choice, not the average motorcycle.
Hi guys just purchased a beautiful bobber with only a couple of hundred miles on it. Complete newby on any forum so apologies if this is not the place 2 points. I want to add my own accessories to the bike have emailed CCM with an order but no response as yet (3days ago) is this a ccm thing? And secondly gearbox is really stiff and tricky to get into gear, will this ease up? Common problem? Once again apologies if this is not the place. I have been riding for over 30 years lots of green laming and off road in my younger days, I currently own a 1290 super adventure, a triumph scrambler, Honda Cb 750 and now a beautiful bobber. Any help would be great cheers
John
Hi sswinno, CCM are after slow to respond to emails, your better calling them and putting your order in, as for the gear change, it’s usually really good, finding neutral can be a faff when new, but gets better with miles, in fact the whole bike gets better with miles, so if your having issues with the gears, get that checked out under warranty, mine were silky from day one, FT6 model, oh, a stage 1 tune is highly recommended, really improves the available power, overtaking is much better, enjoy your Bobber, CCM servicing is fantastic, and they will take your bike away and return it should it need major works.
Hi Johnybigarms thank you for quick reply, I will give them a call in the morning regarding the accessories. I believe it has had the stage 1 tune done so thats great. I guess i will speak to them re the gear change i got stuck yesterday at a set of lights in 4th gear it wouldn’t budge managed eventually to rock the bike to get it to shift into 1st but i thought it was because it was fairly new, the gear lever seems reluctant to spring back into position, anyways i will chat to them tomorrow about that hopefully not a biggie thanks for the info though
By way of introduction, I recently joined this club having purchased CCM Scrambler No73, riding her takes me back to my Matchless and Triumph days. I live in the Cambridge area and look forward to riding meeting with you.
Hello vseye, I’m on the borders of Essex/Cambridge/Suffolk, so it’ll be great to meet up and put some miles & smiles down next year. I use my Six as often as possible, I’m not sure it’ll weather as well as a scrambler!
Hi everyone I’m Liam, really excited to have an order in for the Blackout for which mine currently has a build date of Feb ‘21
I am just getting back into riding following 3yrs out after a smidsy incident.
Current machines are a CCM 644 – great fun!! Aprilia RSVR track bike and a Montesa 315r.
Looking forward to ride outs and meeting up with other owners and enthusiasts.
