Saddle bolt nightmare

Grrrr. I’ve completely had it with saddle removal bolt. Spend ages failing to secure my sear back on. Gave up.
    Any alternatives?
    I’m thinking:
    A) A longer M5 hexbolt would make locating it easier.
    B) Fixing 5mm threaded rod into the captive nut and doing a locking nut up from underneath
    C) Wide elasticated strap
TBH at the moment a simple elasticated strap has my vote. There’s a good cavity under the saddle for a tool kit I’d like to use but I’m not prepared to tackle that ruddy bolt each time.

A 6mm piece of round bar threaded at both ends. Locktite a wing nut on one end and a 6mm nut on the other end.

Many, many thanks Ian for taking the time to share that object of beauty. I will try and create something similar.

The ‘captive’ nut, bit of a misnomer if ever there was one, seems to have a wobbly life of it’s own and won’t stay still. Maybe that needs locktight as well. I’m also getting a tap and die set while I’m at it as I think the nut’s thread has become somewhat unwelcoming to all my advances.
