Optimate lead as power supply

    Hi,
    Rather than have all the faff of tank removal etc. to connect my sat nav directly to the battery terminals can I connect it, when needed, to the really handy Optimate lead that’s just hanging there?
    Anyone done this already or is it a really stupid idea!

    As long as you use the transformer with the lead it should be okay, but don’t forget to disconnect it once you are home or you could drain the battery.
