    Hi, I have the first service for my Spitfire Bobber coming up and I was curious if the 2 mesh filters are also removed and cleaned as part of the service along with the main filter?

    Has anyone watched theirs being serviced and noticed what is included?

    The one of the LHS of the engine looks easy to remove and clean but the RHS one is located under the clutch cover and a bit of a pain to get to.

    Does anyone know how often they should be cleaned? I’m assuming they majority of swarf and debris will be apparent at the first service which is why I’m keen to see if they are cleaned or not or if I should plan to do it myself.

    The Filters aren’t cleaned on the 1st Service, on my FT6 they changed the position of the little pop filter so as not to spew oil over the rear shocker, Ben the technician turned it upside down, I would expect the second service will clean them both.

    Maybe the OP is referring to the oil strainer filter located on the bottom left hand side of the engine behind a circular disc.
    In which case, yes it does get cleaned at first service.
