    Hi,

After storing my Scrambler for a couple of months in a garage with no electricity, when I attempted to start it the fob wouldn’t work. Can someone advise best way to get the bike started presuming I’ve no ability to connect a trickle charger and I understand you need to be very careful attempting to jumpstart a bike with a lithium battery.

    Thanks

    Chris

    Hi,
A couple of months shouldn’t completely kill the battery and it’s battery recovery that’s a problem , optimate have a battery to battery charger , it pulses to create the higher voltage for lithium charging , your problem sounds as if your bike isn’t waking up ! motogadget say hold the fob to the sensor for 2secs , I think it takes more like 5+ secs , if your battery was low first signs would be slow cranking all the way to the ignition switching it’s self off when you press the start button. (maybe I should have just said hold the fob for as long as it takes for the sensor to wake up)
    regards martin

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I’ll definitely look into the Optimate battery to battery if going to continue storing the bike in this particular garage.

I spent a very long time playing around with the fob. Admittedly I still don’t know exactly where the sensor is on the Scrambler. Does anyone have a photo of exactly where I should be placing the fob? It would be great if that was the issue.

    Thanks

Problem solved. Turns out needed some patience, it was a good 5 seconds nearer 10 before ignition came on.
